The Tefal kneading/crushing blade is an accessory that fits into the cooking bow of the Cuisine Companion. It has two curved, serrated blades. One slightly longer than the other that turns up at the end. The kneading/crushing blade is designed to knead all kinds of dough and pastry. It can mix batters like cake mix and it is great for crushing ice and chopping nuts.
Using the kneading/crushing blade
The Tefal Cuisine Companion has two operating modes:
- Automatic mode
The speed, temperature and duration are already pre-programmed. The kneading/crushing blade can be used with the sauce, pastry and dessert automatic programs.The soup and pastry programs also have different sub-programs that can be selected. You can also modify the temperature and duration of some automatic programs.Once the cooking time has ended both soup programs have a keep warm function which lasts for 45 minutes after the cooking time has finished. Once pastry presets 1 and 2 have ended the bowl will heat to 30˚C for 40 minutes to help the dough rise. - Manual mode
With the manual mode, you can customise the speed, temperature and duration. You can also select the ‘turbo’ and ‘pulse’ functions.The Cuisine Companion has ‘turbo’ and ‘pulse’ buttons on the panel. To use the turbo program simply press and hold down the button it will stop when released. For the pulse setting press the button once to start and again to stop.With the Cuisine Companion Connect the turbo setting is selected by choosing speed 12. The turbo setting is selected by choosing speed 13. You can either pre-program the time before pressing start or you can stop the functions at any time by pressing the start/stop button.
When the machine is running you can pause the operation by pressing the start/stop button. You can activate it again by pressing the same button again. If you wish to cancel the program completely hold the start/stop button for 2 seconds.
The machine will beep 3 times when it has finished running.
Important information
Never put your fingers or any other object in the bowl while the machine is running.
Cleaning
Be careful when handling the kneading/crushing blade as it is sharp and can remain hot after being used in cooking. Once cooled wipe down with a sponge and hot soapy water, then rinse with clean running water.
The kneading/crushing blade is not dishwasher safe!
