Using the Steam Basket

The Tefal Cuisine Companion has two operating modes;

  • Automatic mode
    The temperature and duration are already pre-programmed. The steam basket can be used with the steam program. The temperature can’t be modified but the cooking time can be changed. Once the cooking time has ended both steam programs have a keep warm function which lasts for 45 minutes after the cooking time has finished.
  • Manual mode
    The steam basket can be used in manual mode when you want to blend soup with the ultrablade but leave some pieces still intact. Simply place the ingredients you want to keep whole in the basket while the soup is cooking below. The steam from the soup will cook the ingredients in the basket.With the manual mode, you can customise the speed, temperature and duration.

When the machine is running you can pause the operation by pressing the start/stop button. You can activate it again by pressing the same button again. If you wish to cancel the program completely hold the start/stop button for 2 seconds.

The machine will beep 3 times when it has finished running.

Cleaning

Be careful when handling the steam basket as it can remain hot after use. Once cooled wipe down with a sponge and hot soapy water, then rinse with clean running water.

The steam basket is not dishwasher friendly!
