They can vary in size but they don’t tend le be larger than 10cm in diameter and can usually only contain up to 250ml of liquid.
Popular dishes served in ramekins include; crème brûlée, souffle, French onion soup, ice cream, desserts like chocolate mousse, and baked eggs.
Ramekins are traditionally small white and round but they can be found in various different colours and shapes.
