Wonderfully soft, no-bake, energy bites will give you a quick energy boost before or after a workout. These healthy devils are packed full of super wholesome ingredients but they taste just like chocolate and peanut butter – making then a hit with both kids and grownups!
Homemade energy bites are great for a few reasons; first, the energy bars you find in the supermarket are notoriously expensive, making them yourself allows you to keep the costs down. Secondly, you can adjust the recipe to suit your taste, feel free to customise them however you like, and thirdly, they are just really fun to make!
Once the mixture has been blended together and they have been formed roll them in, desiccated coconut, poppy seeds and flaxseed to give them a special final touch!
Keep them in the fridge for about 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months!
Add pecans to the food processor and blitz.
Add raisins, peanut butter, ground almonds, cocoa powder and honey, to the food processor and combine.
Pour the desiccated coconut, poppy seeds and whole flax seeds into 3 separate bowls.
With your hands shape the mixture into small bite-sized balls.
Roll the balls in either the desiccated coconut, poppy seeds or whole flax seeds and place in a food storage container.
Leave in the fridge for at least 20 minutes and eat whenever you are feeling peckish.
