A fork is a tool used for eating food which has a row of three or four long metal prongs at the end. They are a type of cutlery usually made of metal, plastic or wood. They have a long handle which is slightly curved.
In cooking, they can be used as a makeshift whisk for things like eggs or batter, two forks together make light work of shredding cooked meat like pulled pork and they are great for ‘fluffing’ rice and couscous. Forks can also be used to shape gnocchi, simply cut the gnocchi dough to size and then press them one at a time against the prongs is a sweeping motion. This creates those gnocchi-esque ridges quick and easily at home!
