Recall of oysters due possible contamination with norovirus

The Food Standards Agency has issued two recall notice about Dorset Oysters and oysters from Camel Estuary, Cornwall, because of possible contamination with norovirus

The Food Standards Agency has posted two recall notice for oysters as a precautionary measure because they might be contaminated with norovirus and if consumed it may cause illness. Symptoms caused by norovirus typically include sudden onset nausea, projectile vomiting, diarrhoea and fever but can also include abdominal pain and aching limbs. Norovirus can also lead to dehydration, especially in young children, older adults and people with weakened immunity.

The products affected are limited to Porthilly Shellfish oysters from Camel Estuary, Cornwall, sold at retail stores listed below between 28 October and 09 November 2021, and the Dorset Oysters sold at retail stores listed below between 27 October and 12 November 2021. Below there is the list of fishmongers and retailers where consumers may have purchased contaminated oysters.

If you have bought this product do not eat them: instead, return the product to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
