Saucepans (also called pans or pots) are round and deep cooking pots that are made of metal like stainless steel, copper, aluminium, or cast iron. Saucepans usually have either one long handle or two ear handles on each side. They vary in size from small to large, they are sometimes sold in sets with lids included. Some come with a nonstick coating to prevent things like sauces from sticking to the bottom and the sides.
They have many uses like making sauces, stews, soups, reheating foods and boiling water for cooking pasta, rice and vegetables. They can also be used in conjunction with a steamer basket to steam foods.
