Hummus is just the perfect snack, its healthy, quick and easy to make and most importantly it’s delicious! The best hummus is rich and creamy, the perfect dip for crunchy raw vegetables, pitta bread or adding to falafel wraps, salads and even to pasta.

To make hummus all you will need is a food processor and 5 ingredients; chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon and garlic. It’s so simple!

But the fun doesn’t stop there, adding extra flavours too hummus is a great way to shake things up! You can add herbs, spices and even other condiments, like harissa!

What’s more, hummus is dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, vegetarian and vegan!

Step nr: 1 - Blend tahini and lemon juice

Total time 1 Minute

Add tahini and lemon juice to the food processor and blend together for 1 minute.

Step nr: 2 - Scrape the sides and blend again

Preparation time 30 Seconds
Total time 30 Seconds

Scrape the sides of the bowl then blend for an extra 30 seconds more.

The extra time helps whips the tahini, making the hummus smooth and creamy.

Step nr: 3 - Add oil, garlic and cumin

Add the olive oil, minced garlic, and cumin to the food processor and combine together.

Step nr: 4 - Scrape the sides and blend again

Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl and blend again.

Step nr: 5 - Add half chickpeas and blend

Rinse chickpeas and add half of them to the food processor. Blend for 1 minute.

Step nr: 6 - Add remaining chickpeas and blend

Scrape sides and bottom of the bowl then add the remaining chickpeas. Process until thick and smooth.

If the hummus is too thick add some water gradually until you have the desired consistency.

Step nr: 7 - Season with salt and serve

Check the seasonings and season with salt. Serve immediately with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika.

You can keep the hummus in the fridge for up to a week.
