When it comes to making a good pizza, the devil is in the detail! If you get the dough right it’s hard to go wrong. This pizza dough recipe is everything you could ask for; it’s quick, easy, vegan and most importantly 100% Italian.

Like most Italian food the key is simplicity, you need to use good quality ingredients. This traditional recipe is made up of five ingredients; water, yeast, flour, extra virgin olive oil and a bit of salt. This recipe can be made with fresh, dried and instant yeast.

You can mix the ingredients together in your kitchen machine or do it the old fashioned way and knead the dough by hand! After rising, you can use it straight away, alternatively, It can be frozen for up to 3 months!

Once you have the dough right you can make the perfect pizza at home! Most of the time takeaway pizzas are so oily and you can’t guarantee on the quality of the ingredients. Making pizza from scratch is a much healthier option and what’s more, it’s really fun!

This recipe will make enough dough for 4 large pizzas.

Step nr: 1 - Mix instant yeast and flour

Add instant yeast and flour to a large bowl and stir well.

Add salt and oil and stir together.

Gradually add the water, mixing well to form a soft dough. On a floured work surface knead the dough until smooth and elastic.

Step nr: 4 - Dough can be used

As we have used instant yeast the dough can be used immediately and does not need to rise.
