5 ideas for Valentine’s day

Valentine’s day, the one day of the year specifically dedicated to the celebration of love and romance. You want to show your loved ones you care are what better way than treating them to some great food prepared with affection. Here are our top 5 ideas to impress your loved one from breakfast to bedtime!

Breakfast

Our first idea is simple, wake up that special someone with a lovingly prepared breakfast. What’s more fitting than a stack of love heart-shaped pancakes topped with sweet and glorious raspberry coulis? Both the pancakes are the coulis are simple but the final result is quite impressive! All it takes is a little forward planning and getting up a little bit earlier than usual!

Starter

Starters should be light and whats better than mussels? They are easy to cook, delicious and environmentally sustainable. Our recipe for mussels in a cream and white wine sauce is a dish designed to share! it looks beautiful in a big pot on the table, what’s more, it gives you an excuse to cost up as you enjoy it together!

Cocktail

For when you don’t want to drink too much red wine and fall asleep midway through the main, this passionfruit mojito. this twist on a classic has a wonderfully fresh and fruity taste not to mention the main ingredients is a perfect fit for the occasion.

Main

For the main, we chose teriyaki glazed salmon on a bed of cauliflower rice and asparagus. Not only does this dish look and taste amazing it is quite good for you! Most of the cooking is done in the oven so you don’t need to use as much oil as if you were frying. Salmon is also a brilliant source of omega-3 fatty acids.

Desert

We thought we would top things off with something light but dramatic, poached pairs in red wine. This French classic never fails to impress, its deep red colour adds a bit of drama to the end of a meal. Poached pairs are best served with a side of whipped cream or your choice of ice cream.
